Exo Terra is proud to announce AMPHIBIANS as the theme for its annual Symposium held in conjunction with the National Reptile Breeders Expo in Daytona Beach, FL.
The 2012 Exo Terra Amphibian Symposium will include topics ranging from poison dart frog keeping and breeding to conservation and resource management of wild amphibian populations.

The Amphibian Symposium will be held in Coquina Ballroom E at the Daytona Hilton Hotel on Friday evening August 17, 2012 starting at 7:00 PM.

List of Speakers

Focus on Oophaga pumilio husbandry and breeding

  • Patrick Nabors (USA): owner of Saurian Enterprises (saurian.net) has been breeding and keeping various reptiles since 1990. Patrick explored the beautiful forests of both Belize and Costa Rica.

Conservation and biological research of Costa Rican amphibians with a focus on tree frogs and glass frogs

  • Brian Kubicki (Costa Rica): founder and operator of the Costa Rican Amphibian Research Center and its reserve (www.cramphibian.com) since 2002. His field experience, combined with over a decade of intense literature research and more than 15 years of studies in captivity, has provided the essential tools for cutting edge amphibian research and conservational practices.

Focus on Vivarium design and poison dart frog care and breeding

  • Richard Revis (USA): owner of Black Jungle Terrarium Supply (www.blackjungleterrariumsupply.com) has been creating innovative terrarium environments for over 15 years. His great interest in reptile care and keeping took him to the lush nature of Costa Rica, where he studied these animals in their native habitat.

Focus on the biology of the frogs of Colombia

  • Jan Van der Meulen (Belgium): Jan Van der Meulen, boardmember of the Belgian Herpetological Society, travelled to different biotopes in South and Central America in search of reptiles and amphibians in the wild. His passion for frogs also translates into truly eye-catching photography.
